Welcome aboard, everyone. I'm Emily. My husband is a petrochemical engineer for a large international company. Every few years, he is transferred to another country to build a new plant. In the last decade, we have lived in China, Japan and Indonesia! It really is an exciting life, and as a teacher, I find volunteer work to keep me busy.
In the early days, only one aspect of our life taunted me. I hated shipping our household goods to the next assignment. Once, everything was delayed for months because an alarm clock kept ringing and our entire container was unloaded because of safety fears!
Now, everything goes smoothly. I know what to pack, what to leave behind and the best operators in the business. Lots of new expats ask for shipping advice, so I decided to include my tips in this blog. I hope it proves helpful. Bon voyage!
